Decleor’s new Hydra-Radiance Smoothing Cleansing Mousse

You probably have your beauty routine down to a fine art: cleanse, tone and moisturise.
All good steps to follow but are you like me and put more emphasis on choosing the right moisturiser rather than the cleanser?
To me a cleanser is a cleanser and this is where I save my pennies which I then splash out on a good moisturiser. And toner, well I don’t see the point so I skip that part.

According to Fiona Brackenbury, Decleor’s UK head of Training, using the right cleansing product will bring better results from your moisturiser and so improve your complexion.
She explains: “Typically it’s the simplest things that get overlooked. More and more of us are complaining about suffering from ‘problem’ skin, yet we tend not to see the obvious reasons behind why it’s behaving erratically. You need to go back to basics.”
And by basics she means we need to cleanse properly and with the right cleanser.
She continues by saying “The most important thing you can do for your skin is to cleanse day and night – cut corners here and you can easily leave skin prone to spots, congestion and sensitivity. For example, using facial wipes or going to bed with your make-up on will leave residue behind. Using a product that’s too harsh for your complexion, such as one containing too much alcohol, means the hydrolipidic film can be damaged causing redness and discomfort”.

Realising the error of my haphazard cleansing ways, I was all ears to hear about Decleor’s new cleanser, and if you are too then read on:

To help us get back to basics Fiona was given the opportunity to create what she calls the ultimate cleanser: the new 3-in-1 Hydra-Radiance Smoothing Cleansing Mousse.
It is designed for all skin types, all ages, for both men and women, no toner is needed and it is also paraben free. And Fiona assures the cleanser is gentle enough to use for the eyes.
The 3-in-1 action also ensures the cleansing routine is quick and easy without cutting corners.

These 3 actions in the cleanser are:
1 –Deep Cleansing
It deep cleanses and comes with 2 cotton cloths. Mix a small amount with water and wash the face. Then wipe off with one of the damp cotton cloths. This action helps exfoliate and buff the skin and ensures no residue is left.
2- Skin Polishing and Perfecting.
This cleanser has gentle exfoliating ingredients of grapefruit, papaya extract and Japanese mulberry, so great to use in between your weekly exfoliation.
3- Hydrating and Plumping.
The two main ingredients to aid plumping and moisturising are: The nourishing Neroli essential oil which helps calm any redness and Hylauronic acid, a potent protein that occurs naturally in the skin, which can hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in moisture. Hylauronic acid is an expensive ingredient normally just found in eye serums and moisturisers to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, but Fiona decided it would be a great addition to the cleanser.

Not being a cleanse with water kind of girl due to the tightening and dryness of the skin it usually causes, I was happily surprised to find that I didn’t experience these effects when using this cleanser. It did remove all my make-up and my face felt soft, refreshed and smooth afterwards, so I didn’t have to use as much moisturiser
You only need to use one pump of the cleanser to get nice creamy foam (even in London’s hard water) which is good news as the cost for a 100ml bottle is £27 (introductory offer of £24.55).
So for all you wash with water fans, check it out on www.qvcuk.com .
At the moment this product is only available on QVC UK and it will stay this way until May 2011 when it then has its worldwide launch.
