Ashley Isham SS17 - London Fashion Week

Ashley Isham found inspiration for his Spring Summer 2017 collection with the idea of traveling in the endless sunshine. Evoking a distant world just beyond the horizon with its exotic aromatic beauty where the very air itself sings with life. “It’s about taking her out of the urban life and burying her feet back in the sand.”

 The luxurious collection with its ethereal lightness, tenderness, whip-smart tailoring and elaborate designs communicates a new, relaxed silhouette in soft, natural fabrics including linen, crepe, cotton and voile with gentle, furling edges.

The specially created draped, slashed and knotted pieces come in a colour palette which runs from  saturated nuances to pastels.

It speaks of adventure and wonder, it is an endless voyage of discovery for Spring/Summer 2017, where time goes to the bayou. The sultry, shimmering air is too hot and heavy to be rushing around. Instead it is allowed to live in the “Infinite City," with its swirling nexus of millions of people and their dreams.

 Swathed in her saturated, pastel goddess dresses and meticulously matched maillots, her journey begins.  Artfully juxtaposing scale and textures with the whirlwind of glittering, shimmering beadwork, crystals and their lustrous sheen.

The intense variety with its visual kaleidoscope of colours, punchy-sophisticated ideas and hand sewn embroideries seemed to heighten every moment in creating a life-affirming distinctive collection for Spring/Summer 2017.
