Jimmy Devda SS17 - London Fashion Week

India based INIFD (Inter National Institute of Fashion Design) in association with LST (The London School of Trends) presented 'Preservation' at London Fashion Week. Preservation is the result of a competition run  in India by both institutes, showcasing 8 winners -
One of the winners being Jimmy Devda

Titled Waah Taj - Using the Hotel Taj in Mumbai as inspiration for her collection, Jimmy Devda draws motifs out of the architectural structure and carvings of the hotel.

Motif reflect the form of the building as a whole, details such as the tomb, doors, bricks and wooden carvings of the building.

This in conjunction with rich fabrics neoprene, velvet and dupioni silk set the stage for a collection blended in Indian heritage and architecture, but in a modern concept.
